AI visibility for infrastructure, DevOps, and security software
In short
Technical buyers in infrastructure, DevOps, and security were early to ask AI for help, often in great detail. The vendors that get named publish clear category points of view, readable documentation, honest comparisons, and integration facts that AI can verify.
What technical buyers ask AI
- "Best way to monitor a hybrid network with on-prem and cloud resources?"
- "Which configuration management tools work well for compliance automation?"
- "How do I secure my open source dependencies in a CI pipeline?"
- "Alternatives to [incumbent] for a mid-size IT team?"
- "Does [product] integrate with Kubernetes and Terraform?"
What AI looks for in this market
- Precise product definition: what layer of the stack you cover, and what you don't.
- Integration and compatibility facts in plain text: platforms, clouds, tools, and versions.
- Readable documentation with conceptual overviews, not only reference material.
- A point of view on the shift: AI in operations, platform engineering, consolidation, or whatever is changing in your category.
- Community and third-party evidence: technical reviews, community discussions, partner listings, and analyst coverage.
Common gaps I see
- Docs on a separate subdomain that blocks AI crawlers.
- Product pages built around feature lists, with no plain statement of who it's for.
- A portfolio where each product tells a different story, often after acquisitions.
- No comparison content, so AI builds comparisons from forums and old reviews.
- AI messaging added on top of an older narrative instead of rethinking the category story.
Why this is my home turf
I've positioned products across application development, DevOps and infrastructure automation, software supply chain security, network and infrastructure monitoring, application delivery, and data integration. I know how these buyers evaluate tools, and how to explain technical products without diluting them.
